A total of 24 high-speed trains arrived in Beijing from Datong via Zhangjiakou, with train Numbers G2501, G2502, G2503, G2504, G2505, G2506, G2507, G2508, G2509, G2510, G2511, G2512, G2513, G2514, G2515, G2516, G2521, G2522, G2522, G2527, G2529. The single train starts at Beijing north railway station and the double train starts at Datong south railway station.

The project is designed to optimize the regional railway network and enhance connections between northern Shanxi and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Meanwhile, the railway will also create favorable conditions and infrastructure for later passenger transport lines promoting Datong’s status as a transport hub.

The high-speed railway has given Datong the full confidence and capability to undertake the various social service functions of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, of which tourism is one. “Tourist traffic from Beijing will be directed to datong by high-speed rail.
