The Qinghai Lake, as the largest inland lake and saltwater lake in China, is located in the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Province. Every year, it enters the "freezing period" in mid-December and melts completely in mid-April. At that time, the beautiful scenery of glaciers melting always attracts millions of tourists from home and abroad.

"The west side of the lake and several rivers in the north are beginning to melt," according to Wu Yonglin, with the protection station of the southern bank of the Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve. This makes the long-awaited tourists eager to move.

With the end of the frozen season, the ice on the surface of the lake begins to thin, break and melt, and the lake usually changes from icy land to vast green water. As the temperature rises, some of the ice sheets are broken by strong winds and pushed ashore. The spectacular sight draws people all the way here to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Qinghai Lake is praised as "the most beautiful lake in China", which plays an important role in protecting the ecological environment of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Not only are there natural sceneries here, but also the Tibetan people with simple folk customs make it a good place to travel and relax.
