Everyone knows in China there are eight Ancient Cities, which are Xi’an, Luoyang, Beijing, Kaifeng, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Anyang and Zhengzhou. Besides these large cities, from south to north, east to west of China, as gems here and there, there are also a large number of smaller towns/villages which played an important role in the history and owns lots of cultural and historical relics. The water town of Zhouzhuang near Shanghai, Hui style villages near Huangshan, Yangshuo and Daxu near Guilin, Pingyao in central Shanxi, Dali and Lijiang in northwest Yunnan, etc., each of them has different charms while all present China’s rich historical heritage.

    Hi Monica,

    We had a great trip (Xian, Guilin, Tibet, Yangtze River Cruise).  What a memorable time for me and my two sons.  We are in Beijing for the next 2 weeks with my wife and will be doing some site seeing around the city so I have many more photos to take.

    I traveled to China with a college group in January as part of a Winter Term course at my school. I would not know where to begin planning a trip to a country as diverse as China, but our itinerary put together by Alex Guan was superb! We went to six major cities and we had a genuine cultural experience. We got to see everything from the Great Wall in Beijing to the Li River in Guilin and everything in between!
    A particular highlight of the trip was that China Expedition Tours took our group to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall - this section of the Great Wall is very well preserved and is much less crowded with tourists. Most other tour groups would have taken us to another section of the Wall which would have been more crowded. The little things like this detail of our trip made our experience with China Expedition Tours exceptionally good.
    Alex stayed with our group throughout our trip as a national guide. Everywhere we went we got an exciting history of attractions we visited and we had local guides with impeccable knowledge of their cities. Alex and our local guides did an amazing job of keeping our group on schedule so we got the most out of our trip and made every location a unique experience. Everyone at China Expedition Tours cared deeply about our enjoyment of the trip and went above and beyond what we would have expected from any tour group.
    More than just giving us an incredible trip, we made lasting friendships with the people at China Expedition Tours that I know I will be back to visit in the future. I would not trust anyone else in China with planning a future trip!

     We had a really good day, and enjoyed the tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. For me, the best part of the day was actually when we took a open sided car and drove around the countryside around Yangshou. It might be worth incorporating this into the tour? My only negative feedback was the food on the boat wasn’t great, although I know that your company don’t manage the boat directly.  I don’t know if there are any boats that don’t have food, as it might be worth not eating, and letting people eat in the town when they arrive?

    Anyway, in general the day was great. We all really enjoyed it.
