Itinerary
Our guide and our driver with his van/car meet you in your hotel in Guilin city 8:30 in the morning, then drive for about 50 minutes (about 40 km or 25 miles) to arrive at a small village, Ganbei Village near Huixian Town.
Walk for 30 minutes to another village, Muhuantou. Before visiting the village, we climb up a hill from where a sweeping view of the glass-like fields can be enjoyed. After coming down from the hill, let’s go visiting the old houses and small alleys of the village. We may walk into a local household to have an interesting conversation with the villagers. With an eyeful of stunning idyllic scenery all the way along, we keep walking by a mountain bottom and through another village until a beautiful arch bridge, Tongqiao Bridge, appears in front of us.
Another walk in the field area is needed after the Tongqiao Bridge to see the second ancient bridge with 7 openings. Lunch is always suggested to have in a local restaurant near this bridge.
The last section of walking is also by the small paths in a large area of fields, where different types of seasonal crops and fruits are planted. Our hiking concludes when you see the driver with his van/car in the first village. You can get back to your hotel back in Guilin city about 5:30 pm or Yangshuo town about 6 pm.
