Climate and Weather
Dali enjoys sub-tropical monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 15℃. Without freezing winter and hot summer, Dali is a good destination and can be visited in all seasons.
Local Festivals and Folk Custom
As a major habitat of Bai ethnic group, Dali has distinctive ethnic features. Most of the local festivals start from March to April every year. Besides Sanyuejie Folk Festival and Shibaoshan Singing Party, other main festivals are as follows.
Chaoji Festival: every Jan 1st to Jan 15th of Chinese lunar calendar at Jizu Mountain.
Shuahai Festival: every Aug 8th of Chinese lunar calendar at Caicun Village.
Torch Festival: every Jun 25th of Chinese lunar calendar at Dunzhai Village.
Gegen Festival: every Jan 5th of Chinese lunar calendar at the Three Pagodas.
Butterfly Festival: every Apr 15th.
