We begin our tour in Beijing, witness and climb the magnificent ancient construction of the Great Wall, get a brief impression of this big capital. You can focus on Bai, Naxi and Tibetan Minority culture and folk customs, which is concentrated in Yunnan. Day 1: Beijing

When you arrive in Beijing, our guide (CET representative) will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 2: Beijing

After breakfast, we will pay a visit to the [Temple of Heaven]. It is a complex of ancient buildings, gardens, pathways and its organization indicates relationship between Earth and heaven. Then let’s go to [Tian'anmen Square]. It is one of the largest city squares in the world with the location in the central axis of old Beijing. You can see the Monument to the People's Heroes stands in the center of Tian'anmen Square. Then we go to the [Forbidden City] – the imperial palace for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Imperial Forbidden City has been home to 24 Emperors: 14 during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) and 10 during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911). The rectangular complex covers an area of 74 hectares (183 acres) and over 150,000 square meters (1,600,000 square feet). It consists of 90 palaces and courtyards, 980 buildings and 8,704 rooms, visitors are able to visit most of the halls and rooms though some of them are kept secret. Later the day you can to explore more about this city on your own.

Day 3: Beijing

The Great Wall of China, the most significant structure in the world, is the symbolization of the wisdom and power of Chinese people. The locals like to call this structure as Wan Li Changcheng in Chinese language which means the Great Wall of 10,000 Li (one Li equals to half kilometers). This morning we drive to the [Jinshanling Great Wall], the most original and less commercial section of the Wall. Jinshanling Great Wall is one of the best preserved parts and the longest sections of the Great Wall with many original hiking features. Splendid views are available to you when you are in the top.

Peking duck is so famous around the world. And people say that a visit to Beijing isn't complete if not try the crispy and tasty Peking duck, so we will recommend a dinner with Peking duck for you at one famous restaurant.

Day 4: Beijing-Xi'an

This morning we go to visit the [Summer Palace] first. The beauty of the Summer Palace is beyond imagination. The pavilions, kiosks, terraces, bridges, dikes, corridors are delicately crafted and placed, well displaying the thousand-year old Chinese landscape gardening. Chinese profound philosophical and aesthetic tradition can be reflected in this scenic spot.

After lunch we drive to the airport for a pm flight to Xi'an. Upon arrival, you will be met by the guide and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to relax.

Day 5: Xi'an

With a history of more than 3,000 years, Xi'an has abundant collection of archaeological relies to express its rich history. This morning we go to visit [Banpo Museum] first. The Banpo Museum located on the eastern bank of the Chanhe River of Xi'an is the first Chinese museum built on the remains of prehistorical matriarchal villages along the Yellow River. You can see lots of precious unearthed cultural relics and artworks, indicating the civilization of the Matriarchal Community, the period of the prehistoric time there. Next we will visit a Terra Cotta Fine Art Factory, where you can see the Terra-cotta Warrior replicas, and have the opportunity to know the manufacturing operation of them. After the visit, we will travel by van/bus for 30 minutes to the world-renowned Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is famous throughout the world for its life-sized terra-cotta warriors and horses. And the three pits of the terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated shows you how magnificent the structure of Emperor Qin Shihuang's (the First Qin Emperor’s) Mausoleum was.

Later this evening you may choose local special Dumpling Dinner and the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 6: Xi'an-Kunming

This morning let’s go to visit the ancient [City Wall] and the [Provincial Museum]. The exhibition space of Provincial Museum is divided into an introductory hall, permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions, and temporary exhibitions, as well as one that has been named the National Painting Hall. Those entire exhibitions show the development of civilization in this region. The next to do is a visit to the [Big Wild Goose Pagoda]. It is one of the most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xi’an today.

After all the visits, we will take a pm flight to Kunming.

Day 7: Kunming-Dali

Today let’s take a tour to the [Stone Forest], famed as the “First Wonder of the World”. The Stone Forest was formed by karst two million to thirty mullion years ago. The Stone Forest contains peaks, pillars, stalagmites, depressions, underground rivers, and caves. The fantastic stone pinnacles rising abruptly from the ground resemble a huge, dense forest. And there goes a local saying, “It is a waste of time without being in the Stone Forest while visiting Kunming”.

Later this afternoon we will drive to Kunming Train Station to catch an overnight train to Dali.

Day 8: Dali

You will be picked up by your guide at Dali Train Station in the morning, and then be transferred to your hotel in the Old Town. The rest time in the morning will be your own.

After lunch, we will set out to visit a typical sight of Dali--the [Three Pagoda Temple]. They are three pagodas in tripartite formation and the main pagoda is named Qianxun Pagoda; it is 70 meters (about 229 feet) high and flanked by two smaller pagodas on each side at 42 metres high. Qianxun Pagoda is in the typical architectural style of the Tang Dynasty's (618 - 907). And then we will enjoy a walk along the old street in [Dali Ancient Town]. It was an important gateway to the Silk Road in Southwest China, and also served as a seat of government and a major military barracks for Yunnan Province in the ancient times. The remained tower can enable you to explore the mystery belonging to the history. The Dali City layout was uniform: five main streets from south to north and eight main streets from east to west. While marketplaces were neatly arranged within the city, which has remained unchanged to this date. Traditional Bai ethnic minority folk houses are different from any other Chinese city. Then we continue to [visit a local Bai Minority Family] for the first-hand experience of the local daily life. Their traditional way of life and brilliant handicrafts will surely impress you.

Day 9: Dali-Lijiang

Today we will depart for Lijiang by private van/car/bus after lunch. It will take us about 3.5 hours to drive there. The beautiful scenery on the way will surely give you some special feeling, and we may stop on the way for you to relax and take some photos. We will arrive in Lijiang by dinner time.

Day 10: Lijiang

Lijiang is the place where you can appreciate the beautiful nature as well as ancient people groups and their customs. This morning we will go to the [Jade Dragon Snow-capped Mountain]. The skyscraping snow-capped peaks and its imposing body and the flowing rivers under the old town compose a fabulous picture. We [take cables to climb the mountain] and be intoxicated in the picturesque scenery. And we also organize a tour in the ancient town. And then we will visit [Ancient Lijiang City] which has no city walls. When you come to visit the beautiful Lijiang Ancient City, you will be able to experience the strong Nanxi folk culture. The brilliant Naxi ancestors created the ancient and mysterious Dongba culture and also created the splendid plateau civilization. Dongba characters are considered as the “only live hieroglyph in the current world”. The primitive and lingering Dongba music and the mysterious Dongba ancient religion all represent the unique, marvelous and distinctive features of Naxi minority.

Day 11: Lijiang-Shangri-la

Today we will depart Lijiang for Shangri-la by private van/car/bus after breakfast. It will be a long drive, but the scenery all the way is fabulous. On the way, we will stop to enjoy the First Bend of the Yangtze River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge. We will also have a lunch stop on the half way. We will arrive in Shangri-la by dinner time.

Day 12: Shangri-la

Today let’s go to visit [Songzanlin Monastery]. It is a famous Tibetan style Buddhist temple in China and a spiritual hub for people to discover the mystery and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. The architectural style of the building is a faithful imitation of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. You can also take photos of girls wearing exquisite Tibetan costumes holding perfectly white fluffy lambs against the imposing mountains and blue sky. Next we will visit the [old part of the town] and a [Tibetan family]. When you are there you will discover that the Tibetan built their houses in distinctive religious styles influenced by Buddhism. You can also taste Tibetan specialties of yak butter tea, local yogurt and Tibetan barley. Later this afternoon is on your own to walk around. Visiting the local market is a good choice for you to experience the local people’s life.

Day 13: Shangri-la-Kunming-Shanghai

Today you take a morning flight back to Kunming, and another flight followed from Kunming to Shanghai.

Upon arrival, you will be met by the guide and transferred to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day to relax.

Day 14: Shanghai

Today we will go to visit the [Yuyuan Garden] after a leisurely breakfast. There you find more delicate handicrafts and tasty Chinese snacks. Today’s tour also includes a visit to the [Jade Buddha Temple], an elegant structure famous for its Buddha statue which is carved of a complete piece of solid white jade and decorated by jewels. You will have your lunch in a characteristic Shanghai restaurant.

After lunch our guide takes you to the [Outer Bund], where you have the chance to have a grand view of Shanghai both in a tradition and modern perspectives. Later you can enjoy a walk on the [Nanjing Road], the most prosperous commercial street. There are lots of world famous brands setting along the street and you can enjoy a great shopping time.

Day 15: Shanghai-Departure

This morning let’s go to discover more about Shanghai. We go to visit the [Shanghai Museum].After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for a flight flying back home or for your next destination.
