As the most popular hiking tour of Great Wall around Beijing, it will show you both Simatai and Jinshanling sections of the wall within 3 hours. Due to the recent closure of Simatai East section, we cannot walk through all the way to Simtai East. We will reach the Wall by Kylin Tower at Simatai West, and then walk westward to Jinshanling. Your odyssey concludes at either Shalingkou in Jinshanling or, if fueled by boundless energy, venture an extra 30 minutes to reach Zhuanduokou. Along the way, encounter the warmth of local farmer friends, savor the flavors of authentic home-made cuisine, and immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of local community development. This is an ultimate odyssey through the famed Great Wall near Beijing, a thrilling escapade that unfolds the wonders of both Simatai and Jinshanling sections in a mere 3 hours. Ascend a 40-minute stairway to the East-Five-Eye watchtower at Simatai West, a celestial vantage point that rewards your efforts with a breathtaking panorama of human ingenuity etched across the landscape. At Jinshanling, choose to descend at the mystical Shalingkou or, fueled by boundless energy, venture an additional 30 minutes to disembark at Zhuanduokou. Traverse the untamed, un-restored wall where watch towers and beacon towers snake across the mountains, creating an ethereal spectacle from east to west. Our day tour commences with a hotel pickup at 8 am, whisking you away to the enchanting Simatai West. By 10:30 am, the adventure unfolds, promising three hours of unparalleled exploration. Following the hike, a delectable lunch at a local farmer's restaurant awaits, providing a fitting conclusion before returning you to the comforts of your hotel.
This section of the Great Wall offers an unparalleled hiking experience, unrivaled in its photogenic allure. With over 15 watchtowers, steep gradients offering dynamic perspectives, and a backdrop of expansive views, it's a visual feast for the senses. The watchtowers themselves boast a fascinating array, with two or three storeys, flat or rounded roofs, and pitches adorned with upturned eaves. Important Information
What to take:

Notes:
1. There is no toilet along the path on the Wall. There are toilets at the entrance of Simatai West and Jinshanling. Please prepare before hiking and always carry toilet paper by yourself.
2. Please don’t make any appointment after the trip as the return depending on the traffic between 5-6 pm.
3. At the beginning of your hiking, you may be followed by local farmers. The farmers will give you help along the way, as a reward they will sell some souvenirs. If you don’t like this, you have to say NO firmly at the beginning (MAYBE LATER does not work in Chinese culture) or just ignore them and not speak a word with them; otherwise they can be persistent and follow you all the way on the Wall.
4. Unlimited bottled waters are stored in our car/van today, and you need a day pack to carry them.
5. We will bring trekking poles in our car/van and please tell your guide if you need one.
6. Travel insurance is optional and is the sole responsibility of travellers. It is encouraged to have coverage of injury or accident.
7. As responsible travelers, we “take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprint”.
