Tuanbo Lake Scenic Area
Tuanbo Lake is an integrated resort and residential area in Tianjin. The town is in Spanish style. The Scenic Area is located in the eastern part of Jinghai County, 24 kilometers from Tianjin downtown. Since Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty had been there on a pleasure tour, the Tuanbo Lake is also called Qianlong Lake.
The Tuanbo Lake Scenic Area is centered on the lake of nearly 132 square kilometers with a water surface of 60 square km where reeds grow in abundance and fish of many varieties swim. The lake with its quiet surroundings is also the habitat of swans, mandarin ducks, egrets and more than 6O other species of aquatic birds.
The Lake-Centre Island is over 33 hectares in area with a large Amusement Palace built on it. Besides facilities for many kinds of amusement, there are also restaurants, food stalls and hotels equipped with facilities and services for conferences. Construction is under way for tapping the terrestrial hot springs for health purposes.
