Climate and Weather
Much influenced by Bohai Sea, the climate of Tianjin is temperate and continental-type monsoon with the four seasons distinct from one another. The average annual temperature is 12.2 C. July is the hottest month, with the temperature above 26 C, while January is the coldest, about -4 C, when below freezing temperatures can be expected. The average annual rainfall is 559.1mm, most of which is concentrate in summer. In winter, the port is frozen over for 80 days.
Since spring is windy; summer is hot and wet; autumn is cool with mild and pleasant temperature; winter is cold without much snow. It is suggested that travelers visit Tianjin either in spring or in autumn, when it is neither to hot nor too cold.
Local Festivals and Folk Custom
Most of the Festivals in Tianjin are held on the Ancient Culture Street. The New Year Picture Festival held during the Spring Festival is highly popular, a celebration of the coming year, with displays of the famous woodblock prints from Yangliuqing. Other festivals include the Rose Festival in May, the Great Wall Mountain Festival in autumn, and the popular International Marathon on the first Sunday of April. The street itself also often has displays of street art, Tianjin ballet, puppeteer and traditional opera which have made this street lively and crowded.

Folk Custom Culture Tourist Festival
Time: Spring Festival
Venue: Urum Tower, Nankai District, Tianjin
Content: Show and sale of the folk art works such as paper-cuts and spring festival couplets; uangko dance, flower show and artistic performances.
Canal Peach Blossom Tourism Festival
Time: March
Venue: Peach Blossom Mound, the North Canal
Content: Flower Appreciation
Huangyaguan Great Wall Marathon Tourism Activities
Time: Late May
Venue: Huangyaguan Great Wall, jixian County
Content: Route A is a Standard Marathon Route, while Route B is half of the distance and Route C is a symbolic short route. Marathons will be started in order on the same day from the same point.
