Yila Plain
As the biggest and most beautiful plain in Diqing, it occupies a total area of 13 square kilometers, 6 kilometers to the northwest of Xianggelila County. In the Zang language, "Yila" means leopard mountain. The Plain derives its name according to a tale that the Leopard Mountain sitting in the north of it is a sacred mountain.
In July, the Plain becomes a sea in which numerous azure blue waves popple. Abounded with innumerable rose color wild peonies, wild chrysanthemums and various other fragrant flowers and grass with untold names, Yila Plain joins together with Pana Sea and beautiful age-old Yila Village, resulting in an intoxicating picture.Tourists can either appreciate the pastoral scene of Zang area or taste mysterious customs and traditions of Zang people.
