Kaili Area
Kaili is like a pearl inlayed in the Mount Miao. This pearl has colorful and classical features, such as the local Miao customs, precious cultural relics and picturesque landscapes, which makes this pearl more shinning and attractive.
Hailed as Country of Festivals, Kaili people celebrate totally 136 festivals of various significances all the year round. Among which, the Qiang Huapao, praised as the Oriental Football, is one of the most solemn festivals in Kaili. Besides, the one-week-long Lusheng Festival is also a festival that reflects the purest and typical Miao culture, on which people will dress up and hold Lusheng competition. Bullfighting Festival has prevailed for ages in Miao village in Kaili, which is a reflection of the generous personality of Miao.
Speaking of the landscapes, there is no lack of splendid views in Kaili. Xianglu Mountain with the altitude of 1233 meters is known as the grandest mountain in Kaili. Covering 15 square km, Xianglu Mountain attracts tourists with the wonderful caves, the flowing peaceful river and charming riverbank. On the lunar June 19, local people will hold a climbing ceremony by climbing to the peak through the unique zigzag rout.
Feiyun Cliff (Flying Clouds Cliff), boasting a group of ancient structures that includes archways, pavilions, temple halls and corridors, is a major ancient site of the Wuyang River Scenic Resort. Annually, on the 8th day of lunar April, the ethnic minority people gather here to hold grand celebrations by playing the Lusheng Pipe, dancing on large drums and praying to the God for blessings for their families.

By air: Flight from the Liping Airport (ZUNP) to Guiling and Guiyang are available in Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
By long-distance bus: Kaili Long-distance Bus Station locates 2 km away from city center, to where bus No. 1 and 2 can take you (1 CNY).
