The Mansion of Mu Clan
As the Lijiang Ancient Town one of the members of the Chinese ancient towns that is well-preserved, so is the Mu Clan the most grand view of the Lijiang ancient town. Having experienced more than 500 years of history, Mu Clan, covers an area of 30,000 m2, is attractive as it was.
Inside this splendid museum, there are precious historic relics that can tell stories, including the magnificent architectures and the slogans that were granted by the emperors. Over the years, many buildings in the complex were raised to the ground as the result of various wars and plundering. In 1996, the local government initiated a large-scale renovation and expansion scheme. Today, the majority of the surviving buildings are a mixture of traditional Han, Bai and Naxi styles of architecture.
Around the Mu Clan, there is also a wealth of trees and flowers of various rare species, many of which are exclusive to Lijiang and rival the imperial botanic gardens of ancient times. Therefore, here is a good place for your expedition for the Chinese culture and peaceful life.
