The Site of Daxi Culture
As the first discovery of the Neolithic Age in the midstream of the Yangtze River, Daxi site has been playing a significant role in the study of the cultures along the Yangtze River since its discovery in the year of 1952.
The discoveries here can provide you a splendid and vivid picture of what the life was in 5,000 years ago, when the later matriarchy was in its heyday and the early patriarchal society was in the bud. More than 1,250 historical relics have been brought to light, including stone axes, chisels in the shape of an elongated pointed jade tablet, pottery spinning wheels, and other production tools as well as earthenware, jade, and relief sculptures of human faces.
Having been experienced all the dynasties through the ancient China, Daxi site collected various kinds of typical objects that present the cultures in a certain time. Therefore, coming around here just like traveling along the whole history of China in a time machine.
