Climate and Weather
Living in the subtropics, the people in Chengdu can tell easily which season it is from the weather. It is never too hot in the summer, nor too cold in the winter. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 6℃, while July and August rain most with the highest temperature of 25℃.
Sichuan province was built in the Sichuan Basin, thus where Chengdu locates is like the bottom of a bowl where the heave fog is commonly seen. That is the reason why the Chengdu people love the pepper. The pleasant weather in Chengdu together with the spicy Sichuan Cuisine accounts for the good-looking of the people there.

1. The hot and wet weather here may impacts on the people with rheumatism.
2. Never believe in the strangers who recommend any service or commodities to you.
3. In the spring and winter, the temperature ranges greatly from the noon to the mid-night, take more clothes with you.
4. In summer, the mosquitoes are so crazy especially in the place next to the lake and river, so medicine to dispel the mosquitoes is essential.
5. You can bargain with the vendors, especially those sell the tourists souvenirs and folk costumes, but never do that in supermarket. Do be shame about bargain, because all the Sichuan people do that.
