Huaisheng Mosque
As one of the four ancient mosques in China, Huaisheng Mosque (also named Shizi Mosque or Guangta Mosque) is the well-preserved oldest mosque in China. It was under the donation of the Arab traders in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) that this magnificent mosque has been built in memory of the sage Mhammedan, which is where the Chinese name that means to commemorate the sage, derived.
The design of this mosque is of classic flavor, which is simple but exquisite. This magnificent building is surrounded by the railings and the roads inside are paved with the slab-stones on each of which various figures are carved--just as that of the Forbidden City.
Inside the mosque spot, there is a cylindrical brick pagoda named Guang Pagoda, which is treated as a relic with remarkable architecture value. As the research shows, except for the part in the ground that is several meters, the pagoda is as tall as 35.7 meters.
