Being called Canton or the City of Ram, Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong province, as well as the political, cultural, economic and transportation center of south China. With the population over 10 million and 70 thousand square meter, Guangzhou is the second largest city ranks behind the city of Beijing.
Located in the north of the Pearl River Delta and close to Hong Kong and Macau, Guangdong is a well-known open port in the world. Guangzhou is the southern gate of China opening to the outside world in both economy and tourism.

Among those attractions, the Western Han Nanyue King's Tomb Museum and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall are the typical historic sights. The Western Han Nanyue King's Tomb is one of the 80 famous museums in the world, covering 14,000 square meters (150, 699.6 square feet) with 10 exhibition halls; and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which was built in 1931 in memory of Sun Yat-sen-- the pioneer of China's bourgeois democratic revolution, is the most symbolic building of Guangzhou.
As to the natural sights, the Yuexiu Park, which is reputed for its pretty water and hills, is among the number. The interests in Yuexiu Park include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower, the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site.
Besides, the White Cloud Mountain, where is known as the First Spectacular Scene of Guangzhou, is also one of the most famous spots of natural beauty in Guangzhou. Every time the sun shines after the rain, and through late spring, a wreath of airy clouds circles the mountains. This is how White Cloud Mountain has won its name.
For the devoutly religious Cantonese, the temples are a kind of resort they like to go, therefore, there are many splendid temples in Guangzhou such as the Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family, the Bright Filial Piety Temple and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees.
