Minsk Aircraft Carrier World
located in the seaside of Sha Tou Jiao. There is a Minsk Aircraft Carrier World. Next to the well-known Chinese-British Street (Zhongying Street), is a key tourist spot along 'the Golden Coastline' in the eastern part of Shenzhen. Built on the Minsk Aircraft Carrier of the former Soviet Union in 1998, it is the only park with the aircraft carrier as its theme, as well as a big theme park of 'War and Peace'.
Two parts is divided into of the park ,,Minsk Carrier on the sea and Minsk Square on the land. The Minsk Carrier on the sea, based on the modern high tech, makes full use of the sound, light and electricity for exciting and colorful military amusements, meanwhile, there are also kinds of exotic song and dance performed here. A fifth-floor theatre that can hold 776 people is one of the first things you notice when you get onboard. Subsequently, an 18-minute film is shown about the history of aircraft carriers, informing viewers that the first one was built in Britain in 1918. The film also discusses the history of Minsk, which was unfortunately decommissioned in its prime because Russia couldn't afford to keep up its maintenance. Other exhibits on this floor include a display of five real and artificial torpedoes and a medium-sized stage on which a Russian dance group performs folk dances.
Following directions, one arrives at the top deck and discovers that it's as large as three football fields put together. Tour guides dressed in mock-military uniforms educate visitors about the two armed helicopters, the Mega-23 fighter plane, and anything else they have questions about. But keep in mind that the temperature on deck can be scorchingly high in mid-summer.
More awaits just underneath the top deck. There's a missile storehouse, a 100-metre-long corridor lined with paintings and a room dedicated to Russian achievements in space which primarily focuses on the first man to actually travel in space, a Russian named Yuri Gagarin. Separate dining rooms, originally for the officers and the rank-and-file soldiers, have been fashioned into restaurants.
It takes up to half a day to finish exploring the part of the ship that's been opened. In the near future more parts of the ship will be ready for show. The length of the walk you take around the ship is reportedly as long as 17 kilometres.
Land Minsk Square is composed of front and rear squares, and carrier center mansion. The sculpture with a theme of ceasing hostilities and making peace stands on the front square and make people in deep thought. There are some military training Programs in the rear square, such as, artillery position, tank position, antiaircraft gun position etc., mainly focusing on military recreation, weapon show and performance. The carrier center mansion with an area almost 20,000 square meters is unique in design and possesses kinds of functions for catering, shopping and resting.
Minsk Aircraft Carrier World is a harmonious combination of the carrier appreciation, military recreation, the typical seaside lifestyle in South China and military atmosphere.
